Naturopaths study a variety of alternative healing methods, including homeopathy, but receive what amounts to a basic training in these modalities. Homeopaths specialize in homeopathic medicine, which is a complete medical system. A Homeopath will prescribe medicine to treat the root of the disease and ultimately cure the ailment naturally from within outward. Both Homeopathy and Naturopathy are regulated health professions in the province of Ontario.
OHIP does not cover visits to a homeopathic doctor or acupuncturist. However, extended healthcare plans include homeopathic medicine consultations, remedies and acupuncture. Since the decision to cover these services is at the discretion of your employer, please check with your provider to verify your coverage. If you do not have extended healthcare benefits, you can claim your visits under medical expenses in your taxes.
We are pleased to announce that we are now set up for direct billing through TELUS Health eClaims. This means little or no money out of pocket for approved patients. At this time, TELUS Health allows direct billing to the following extended health insurance provider(s) on your behalf: Sun Life Financial, Great-West Life, Manulife, Standard Life, Industrial Alliance, Desjardins, Johnson Inc., Cowan, Chambers of Commerce, Johnston Group and Maximum Benefit. We are also registered providers with Green Shield and Blue Cross.
All you have to do is bring in your extended health benefits card information and leave he rest to us. Your claim will be conveniently submitted directly from Nika Natural Health. If you would like us to bill directly on your behalf, please let us know at the beginning of your visit and have your extended health insurance provider(s) wallet card with you. We will confirm whether or not your plan offers online billing through TELUS Health eClaims.
Many of the services provided by Nika Natural Health qualify as tax deductible medical expenses under Canada Revenue Agency legislation. For a detailed list of eligible expenses, see their website at www.cra.gc.ca
